Brian’s diverse experiences from over twenty years in the practice of law provide a unique background for his work a true general counsel. He began his career as an assistant attorney general and state prosecutor, before working in the commercial litigation department of McGuireWoods. He left McGuireWoods to serve as the General Counsel of a NASDAQ listed entertainment company, and started Kaleo Legal in 2008 to offer an innovative, lean approach to the practice of law in which the lines between lawyer and business consultant are intentionally blurred. Though Brian was named as a “Best Lawyer in America” in 2017 for commercial litigation, he spends most of his time handling corporate and commercial transactional work for our clients.
Brian maintains an active transactional and litigation practice focusing on corporate and commercial law, including:
• Entertainment law
• Employment law
• Drafting and negotiating all types of commercial contracts
• Commercial litigation
• Intellectual property litigation
Brian earned his undergraduate degree the University of Virginia in 1991, and his juris doctor from the T.C Williams School of Law in 1995.
