Kaleo Legal Adds Mike McCollum to its Corporate Practice

Richmond, VA - Kaleo Legal welcomes Mike McCollum to the firm as a member of its Corporate Practice, with a particular focus on advising entrepreneurs and high-growth businesses. Mike regularly works with early-stage and emerging companies and entrepreneurs to navigate the complicated legal landscape so that they can focus on growing their companies. He counsels clients on structuring private equity offerings and with issues ranging from entity formation and founders’ agreements to raising capital and intellectual property.
Mike earned his Masters of Law degree in entrepreneurship from the Duke University School of Law and started working with entrepreneurs as a legal advisor to the First Flight Venture Center in Durham, North Carolina. Since returning to Richmond he has worked with dozens of startup companies across a wide range of industries, and serves as a mentor volunteer with a number of community and non-profit organizations that support entrepreneurs and small businesses. Mike also teaches several courses at the University of Richmond School of Law, including Advising the Entrepreneur and Entertainment Law. Mike was most recently part of the law firm of Kaplan Voekler Cunningham & Frank, where he worked as an attorney practicing corporate and securities law.

Mike earned his LLM from Duke University, cum laude, his J.D. from the University of Richmond, cum laude, and was awarded the Order of the Coif and was a member of the McNeil Law Society. He also earned a Masters of Arts in military history from Norwich University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College.
