Partner

Brennan is a Partner at Kaleo Legal and focuses her practice on civil litigation, primarily involving contractual and business disputes, intellectual property law, including IP assessment, creation, and enforcement, and alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration with AAA and JAMS.

Background

Brennan has experience in the state and federal courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. She has worked as a full-time litigator for the majority of her career, handling cases from initial investigation through discovery, depositions, and extensive motions practice, and has conducted various jury trials in state and federal court. Brennan has special experience in navigating alternative dispute resolution, with extensive experience in international (ICDR) and domestic matters, particularly focused on complex commercial and contractual disputes.

While in undergrad at the University of Virginia, Brennan interned with the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, gaining practical courtroom experience. After graduating, Brennan worked as a court liaison and case manager for the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program (VASAP) before beginning law school at the University of Richmond School of Law in 2010. There, Brennan drew from her interpersonal skills and experience in the public service sector and transitioned to corporate practice as an In-House Counsel Clinical intern working for Hamilton Beach Brands while in law school.

After graduating from law school, Brennan spent several years practicing with a boutique firm in Blacksburg, Virginia where she focused on business development and organization, intellectual property, and related civil litigation, often in coordination with Virginia Tech research and developers. Brennan then ran a satellite office upon returning to Richmond, Virginia in 2015. She then transitioned to a mid-size Richmond-based firm where she joined a robust civil litigation team, regularly spending time in courts through the Commonwealth of Virginia and Maryland, where she became one of the youngest partners in the firm history.

In 2022, Brennan took on an in-house role for a Richmond-based Fortune 500 company where she served as lead contracts counsel managing a team of contract specialists. In doing so, Brennan managed and negotiated thousands of contracts spanning asset protection, logistics, freight, employee benefits, intellectual property, entertainment, and a variety of vendor contracts.

Brennan joined Kaleo Legal in October 2024 where she has maintained a strong civil litigation practice with special focus and interest in alternative dispute resolution.

Brennan is listed in Virginia Super Lawyers, and has been named as Virginia Legal Elite for Alternative Dispute Resolution (2019) and Civil Litigation (2020 and 2021).
